Coca-Cola launches "Dialekt-o-maten" – the world's first voice-controlled beverage vending machine

Dialekt-o-maten is a way to engage the Swedes in our summer campaign, where with a twinkle in our eye we want to get the Swedes to open their eyes to various holiday gems within the country's borders and not just to the classic holiday resorts abroad.

Between July 6-7, Coca-Cola is making the world's first dialect-controlled beverage vending machine, the Dialekt-o-maten, available to the public. By mimicking a phrase in one of the selected dialects, consumers have the chance to receive a Coca-Cola, directly from the Dialect-o food. Among the selected dialects, cities and towns all over Sweden are represented, from Abisko to Ystad, whose names are also printed on the bottles during the summer campaign.


This summer when it's really hot, there are few things that taste as good as an ice cold Coca-Cola. If you can say "I forgot my mobile phone in the car" in clear Vadstena-öskötska or "Oh, sikket grant veder" in Ystads-Skånska, you have a chance to get a Coca-Cola from Dialekt-o-maten.


- For us, Dialekt-o-maten is a way to engage the Swedes in our summer campaign, where with a twinkle in our eye we want to get the Swedes to open their eyes to various holiday gems within the country's borders and not just to the classic holiday resorts abroad. By also doing it with the Dialekt-o food, which is completely unique of its kind, we hope to be able to entertain our consumers while they get to enjoy an ice-cold Coca-Cola, says Olivia Enquist, marketing manager at Coca-Cola in Sweden.


To use the Dialect-o-mat, select a dialect you want to imitate and listen to the phrase being played. Then speak the same phrase, as similar to the original phrase as you can, for the chance to win a 50cl Coca-Cola. When you have succeeded in imitating the saying well enough, the machine rattles and out comes an ice-cold Coca-Cola. The dialect-o-food is available between July 6-7 in The Pavilion at Birger Jarlsgatan 21 in Stockholm.


From names to destinations in the new summer campaign

In connection with the summer campaign, Coca-Cola changes the labels on the bottles to Coca-Cola classic, Coca-Cola zero sugar and Coca-Cola light to 90 famous cities and exotic beaches in the world that Swedes often go to. Read more about the campaign at coke.se/sommar.
