Swedish national team players are illustrated on Coca-Cola cans

The Coca-Cola Company has a long history in football involvement and is one of FIFA's partners on a global level, a collaboration that started back in 1976.

In connection with the football World Cup, Coca-Cola in Sweden is launching specially made 33cl cans with illustrations of six players from the Swedish men's national football team. This is the first time ever that Coca-Cola® puts football players on its products.


The Coca-Cola Company has a long history in football involvement and is one of FIFA's partners on a global level, a collaboration that started back in 1976. On a national level, Coca-Cola has been a partner of the Gothia Cup since 2016 and the Swedish Football Association since 2017. Ahead of the upcoming football summer, Coca-Cola is launching a campaign together with Robin Olsen, Mikael Lustig, Jimmy Durmaz, Marcus Berg, Albin Ekdal and Andreas Granqvist, which involves each player getting their face illustrated with their autograph on Coca-Cola cans.


- It feels great to be part of Coca-Cola's campaign. I grew up with Coca-Cola and now to have my face on a can feels very cool, says Andreas Granqvist, team captain of the Swedish men's national team.


For Coca-Cola in Sweden, this is a unique campaign.


- Football unites, inspires and engages people worldwide. Coca-Cola has a long history of football events and therefore we are really proud to have illustrations of national team stars on our cans for the first time in Sweden, says Olivia Enquist, marketing director at Coca-Cola AB.


All illustrations of the players are available in Coca-Cola® classic, Coca-Cola zero® sugar and Coca-Cola® light flavors and are sold in limited edition.


- We have an extremely exciting and fast-paced period ahead of us, which we know engages the whole of football Sweden. That six of our players get to be the first ever to front Coke's products in Sweden feels exciting and shows how we lift and develop our partnership with Coca-Cola to a new level, says Håkan Sjöstrand, general secretary of the Swedish Football Association.


Coca-Cola AB and the Swedish Football Association signed a cooperation agreement with long-term ambition in June 2017, where Coca-Cola became an exclusive partner with its Coca-Cola® and Bonaqua® brands. This means that Coca-Cola is the official partner of the women's national team, the men's national team, the U21 national team and the E-sports national team.


From week 17 onwards, consumers can find the products in well-stocked stores.
